These are the most frequently asked questions.  If you can't find an answer to your question here, please contact us and we'll be in touch!

General
 

  • Judging starts at 3.15pm in Marlowe Way and the procession begins at 4.30pm
  • Vehicles must not be wider than 9ft 6ins or longer than 60ft.
  • No water or other objects are to be thrown by participants.
  • Official collecting buckets will be supplied to each float/group.

Categories

There are a total of five categories/classes:

  1. Decorated Vehicles:  Pubs, Licensed Sports & Social Clubs, Families, Private Groups, other Organisations.
  2. Decorated Vehicles:  Youth Organisations, Schools, Playgroups.
  3. Decorated Carts:  Prams, Bicycles, Wheelbarrows, Mobility Scooters.
  4. Walking:  Families, Private Groups, Organisations, Adults.
  5. Walking:  Youth Organisations, Schools, Playgroups.

Prizes

The winners of each of the 5 categories listed above win £100 and receive a trophy to look after for a year.

Volunteer Roles
 

  • Entrants:  Anyone can enter the procession and it is FREE. See opposite for more details.
  • Marshals:  No previous experience is needed for the procession marshalls.  Please contact us if you can help.
  • Planners:  We are always looking for new team members to help with the procession.  Contact us if you're interested.
